“Dirty Liar!” Odumodublvck claims he’ll prefer a jewellery over a Grammy award, prompting mixed reactions
Odumodublvck, a Native Records signee and the father of Okporoko rhymes, is currently facing backlash from the internet for a recent admissiongor his recent Tweet.
The musician, who went by Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu before changing his name, revealed in a tweet on Tuesday that he would choose Skepta’s necklace above a Grammy.
However, his tweet has been creating a “near-fenzi” on the social networking site as conflicting responses have been lingering in the comments.
A “eulogy” regarding Odumodublvck’s accomplishments since rising to fame had been written. He exclaimed with pleasure and complimented his efforts, saying he “cannot even describe the feeling.”
“MOST TIMES I DECIDE NOT TO THINK ABOUT MY ACHIEVEMENTS BUT SOMETIMES I JUST GOTTA PAUSE AND THINK.
“ODUMODU. SKEPTAS CHAIN IS ON YOUR NECK”
“I CANNOT EVEN QUANTIFY THE FEELING SO THEREFORE I CANNOT REALLY EXPRESS WHAT IT MEANS.
“BUT FOR CONTEXT. IF YOU GIVE ME A GRAMMY OR SKEPTAS CHAIN.
“I WILL TAKE THE CHAIN. CALL ME CRAZY BUT THATS MY REALITY.
Odumodublvck has developed a reputation for idolising Skepta, a British-Nigerian rapper, record producer, and grime MC who rose to fame after the release of his debut album “Greatest Hits” on September 17, 2007.
In this league, Odumodu is not the only rapper. He is revered as a god, an elite figure in the rap world, and a role model by many young and underground rappers, particularly in Nigeria.
Wearing Skepta’s necklace is a significant accomplishment for Native, as he is often known, in his musical career.
However, after his tweet, internet users shared their thoughts. While some appreciate him, others think his ideas are simply irrational. Why else would Beni refer to him as a “Dirty Liar”?
Emmanuel, a different admirer, says: “You’re right. Because you might not even win a Grammy”
Charlie of Warri wrote: “When you value something so much, I know the feeling.”
Interestingly, JustPorlee thinks that wearing Skepta’s chain might even fetch him a Grammy award soon. He wrote:
“Big kala make I yarn you bro as you carry the chain, Skepta go still give you Grammy bro …. The two shall be your one day….”
This illustrates the diversity of fan opinions. Additionally, it demonstrates that not all social media users are fans.
Remember how Odumodublvck became well-known in 2022 after the release of “Picanto,” his debut song for Native Records, which featured ECko Miles and Zlatan?
Since the release of Picanto, the rapper has quickly cemented his spot in the hearts of hip hop music fans in Nigeria and abroad. With the release of several additional great songs, like “Declan Rice” among others, the rapper is quickly emerging as a rap sensation in the Afro music industry.
His flawless stage performances and unwavering capacity to mash up genres aid in his rapid ascent to the top.
He is known for his public display of the Igbo people’s traditional hat of red and white colours and has caught the attention of many other music experts cum professionals across the country including Davido, the CEO and founder of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW).
